The major point of concern here is that the tight junction between the basal surface of the cell and the bone doesn't really release acid. Also, the numerous cytoplasmic projections don't actually lie outside of that cell-bone interface.
Based on the storyboard, however, we don't really ever zoom in close enough to see be able to actually "see" these projections. Also, we need to show acid release that happens quickly. It also has to be shown traveling quickly as to activate other cells in the vicinity...
